Almost every recipe with saffron calls for "a pinch of saffron" so we measured out a pinch for you ahead of time to make cooking easy and consistent every time.
Saffron is the most valuable spice in the world. Saffron comes from the red stigmas of the beautiful purple crocus sativus.
Our saffron is grown organically and hand-planted, harvested, and packaged on our family farm in NH.
Saffron has a very subtle flavor and aroma. Saffron reflects an earthy and grassy flavor, yet it has sweet floral and honey notes. The red stigmas add a yellow-golden hue to any dish.
Saffron is sensitive to light. Store in a cool, dark place as you would most spices and oils to maintain potency.
Steep a pinch of crushed stigmas in hot water for several minutes. The stigmas will release a yellow hue. Add the water and stigmas to your recipe.
